Zydus Lifesciences has announced the launch of its Revahale revefenacin inhalation solution in India. The company highlights that Revahale is the country’s first once-daily nubulized LAMA for the treatment of COPD, noting that the inhalation solution “is compatible with standard jet nebulizers, providing flexibility and ease of use for patients and caregivers.”
The announcement notes that “While inhaled bronchodilator therapies have transformed disease management, many patients continue to experience difficulties using handheld inhalers, cognitive limitations, severe breathlessness, or an inability to generate sufficient inspiratory effort for effective drug delivery” and adds that “Revahale has been developed to address these unmet needs through a convenient nebulized delivery platform that reduces dependence on inhalation technique and inspiratory flow.”
Earlier this year, Zydus announced that it had launched a foldable MDI spacer licensed from AeroDel Technology Innovations, saying that it was part of an effort to provide improved delivery of inhaled drugs. At that time, the company pointed to a “long-term strategy of building innovation-led sustainable, differentiated respiratory franchises through patient-centric drug device.”
