Zydus Lifesciences has announced the launch of a foldable MDI spacer after acquiring marketing and commercialization rights to the device from Mumbai-based AeroDel Technology Innovations. The spacer, which AeroDel calls A202, is being marketed by Zydus in India as Aerolife Mini. In its announcement, Zydus said, “This initiative aligns with the Zydus’ long-term strategy of building innovation-led sustainable, differentiated respiratory franchises through patient-centric drug device.”
According to AeroDel, the spacer is compact and is intended to remain attached to the MDI so that it is easily portable and no assembly is required when the patient is ready to use the inhaler. AeroDel says, “With a growing portfolio of patient-centric respiratory devices, AeroDel continues to focus on simplifying inhalation therapy and improving adherence. The company is actively advancing multiple device innovations for Indian respiratory patients and plans to expand its respiratory device platforms to international markets.”
