Chinese NMPA approves Milestone and Everest’s Cardamyst etripamil nasal spray for the treatment of PSVT

According to Milestone Pharmaceuticals and Everest Medicines, the Chinese National Medical Products Administration has approved Everest’s NDA for etripamil nasal spray for the treatment of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. Etripamil. Everest acquired development, manufacturing, and commercialization rights to etripamil nasal spray in Greater China earlier this year from Corxel Pharmaceuticals Hong Kong (formerly Ji Xing Pharmaceuticals).

Ji Xing, which had acquired the Chinese rights from Milestone in 2021, conducted the Phase 3 JX02002 of etripamil nasal spray in China. That study, which met its primary endpoint, had essentially the same study plan as Milestone’s RAPID Phase 3 study of etripamil, which also met its primary endpoint.

Cardamyst has been approved in the US for the treatment of PSVT since December 2025 and was launched in the US in January 2026.  Milestone notes that the Chinese approval is the first for etripamil outside of the US. Milestone announced in January 2026 that the EMA had accepted an MAA for the nasal spray for the treatment of PVST.

Everest CEO Rogers Yongqing Luo commented, “As the only innovative therapy currently available that enables patients to self-administer treatment for PSVT episodes outside of healthcare settings, Cardamyst offers a new on-demand treatment option. With treatment effects observed as early as five minutes after administration, Cardamyst enables patients to manage episodes outside of a healthcare setting, giving them greater control over their condition and potentially reshaping the treatment paradigm for PSVT in China. Leveraging our proven commercialization capabilities, we look forward to accelerating the launch of Cardamyst in China to address the significant unmet needs of patients with PSVT and realize its long-term clinical and societal value.”

Milestone President and CEO Joseph Oliveto said, “We believe the approval of etripamil nasal spray in China represents exciting progress toward our vision to help patients around the world living with PSVT. We congratulate Everest on this achievement and look forward to continued collaboration as they launch the product in this important market.”
