Inhalation specialist CDMO Bespak announced that its Holmes Chapel, UK site has again received a Gold EcoVadis sustainability rating, the second since Bespak was spun out from Recipharm in 2024. Earlier this year, Bespak and Chiesi announced that they were expanding a partnership to increase manufacturing capacity for LGWP propellant MDIs at Holmes Chapel.
Bespak CEO Chris Hirst commented, “Bespak is proud to once again achieve the EcoVadis Gold rating for our Holmes Chapel site. This recognition highlights our long-term commitment to maintaining high standards and driving continued progress in sustainability across every aspect of our business. Over the past year, we secured Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validation of our greenhouse gas reduction targets and established a clear roadmap to achieve net zero, supported by measurable targets and accountability across the organization.”
Head of ESG Benedicta A. Bakpa said:,”Bespak’s Gold EcoVadis rating has been awarded at a time when we are working hard to champion the transition to low carbon pressurized metered dose inhalers . . . . This rating demonstrates our commitment to strong sustainability performance, operational consistency, and continuous improvement. It is the latest in a long line of exciting milestones for Bespak and we look forward to many more.”
