Atisama and Monash University get AU $15 million for continued development of RB042 inhaled SSO therapy

The Australian Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Frontier Health and Medical Research Initiative is providing over AU $15 million to Atisama Therapeutics (formerly Rage Bio) and Monash University to support continued development of RB042 inhaled SSO therapy for the treatment of COPD, Atisama announced. The company said that the funding will go toward an ongoing Phase 1 trial of RB042 led by Monash University Professor Merlin Thomas.

Atisama CEO Siro Perez commented, “This funding from the Australian Government is a significant validation of our science and our team’s ability to translate it into the clinic. Partnering with Professor Thomas and Monash University allows us to accelerate the development of RB042 for the millions of people living with chronic lung disease.”

Chief Medical and Development Officer Ed Tucker said, “This funding gives us the opportunity to explore the therapeutic potential of RB042 and support our mission to improve the lives of millions of patients with chronic inflammatory lung disease.”
