Jiangxi Kvvit Pharmaceutical is paying an undisclosed amount up front, plus potential milestones and royalties, to Merz Therapeutics to acquire the rights to develop and commercialize Merz’s Inbrija levodopa dry powder inhaler in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao, the companies announced. Kvvit will be responsible for clinical development and regulatory submissions seeking approval for Inbrija for the treatment of OFF episodes in Parkinson’s disease in those markets and for commercialization if the product is approved.
Merz acquired Inbrija from Acorda Therapeutics in 2024. The DPI is Inbrija has been approved for the Parkinson’s disease indication in the US since December 2018 and in Europe since 2019.
