US-based OINDP instrument and testing specialist Proveris Scientific has been acquired by Investindustrial, which describes itself as “one of Europe’s leading independent investment groups focused on taking majority or control positions, in quality leading mid-market companies.” Proveris makes instruments such as the SprayVIEW spray analysis system, Vereo automated actuators, and Kinaero MDI testing accessories that are widely used in inhaled and nasal drug development. In 2020, the company launched Proveris Laboratories, a contract testing business.
According to the announcement, Proveris Founder and CEO Dino Farina will stay with the company and has invested as a minority shareholder. Investindustrial says that it “aims to drive further Proveris’ expansion and build a leading pharmaceutical testing equipment group positioned for continued global growth, both through organic and acquisitive expansion in its existing markets and in adjacent pharmaceutical testing equipment categories.”
Farina commented, “Investindustrial represents everything I could hope for in a partner focused on strategic growth, investment and value creation for Proveris’ customers and the Proveris team. I am very excited for the future working with the Investindustrial team.”
Investindustrial Industrial Advisory Board Chairman Andrea C. Bonomi said, “Proveris represents an exceptional platform to build a global leader in specialty pharmaceutical testing equipment. We greatly admire what Dino and the team have achieved and look forward to partnering on the next phase of growth. By leveraging our industrial expertise, international reach, and strong integration capabilities, we aim to accelerate growth and expand the company’s global footprint.”
