Ganley also highlights a plenary talk by Nan Zhou of the University of Bristol titled, “Switches Between pMDI and DPI Asthma Preventers in England: Discontinuation, Persistence and Switch-back” that the committee felt was extremely interesting and deserved a place in the program despite falling outside of the announced session topics. In the talk, Nan Zhou will present research based on data from 12,000 patients involved in a UK program that encouraged health care professionals to switch patients from MDI to DPI asthma preventions inhalers.
One significant change for DDL 2025, Ganley notes, involves a new, larger space for the poster exhibition. A sudden increase in the number of abstract submissions last year was sustained this year, he says; so in order to accommodate the increased number of posters more comfortably, the poster exhibition will move to the EICC’s Cromdale Hall, on the same level as the technology exhibition space.
Delegates may also opt to attend programming that will be offered by two associated groups, the European Pharmaceutical Aerosol Group (EPAG) and The DDL New Researcher Network (NRN). These programs will also take place at the EICC but require separate registration.
On the morning of Wednesday, December 10, prior to the start of DDL itself, EPAG will hold a workshop titled “Perspectives on Recent Changes in Regulatory, Academia & Science That Impact OINDP products.” Attendance at the workshop is free of charge, and delegates may register on the workshop page.
The NRN has scheduled two events on the first day of DDL 2025 exclusively for early career researchers and PhD students. The group will hold a networking lunch prior to the start of the lecture program, and in the evening, the NRN will present a career cocktail event featuring talks by Ulf Krüger of Pulmotree and Catherine Froman of the University of Delaware. Both events are free for early career researchers and PhD students, who can register on this page.
The DDL 2025 technology exhibition has sold out the available space, with 18 companies signed on as Platinum sponsors, 9 companies as Gold sponsors, and 95 Silver sponsors. Companies sponsoring/exhibiting at DDL 2024 include:
