ISAM Congress 2023 also encouraged interaction between early stage researchers and more senior aerosol experts, with events including a young investigators’ lunch and a Best Oral Presentation session. Several prizes for students and early career researchers were awarded, including the Student Research Award, which went to Michael Neary of University College Cork and the Young Investigator Award, which was presented to Hui Xin (YY) Ong of Macquarie University and Ab Initio Pharma.
Arunima Sengupta, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bern, won an award for the best oral presentation by a student or postdoctoral or clinical fellow, which was spondored by PARI. The runner-up best oral presentation award went to Philippe Vollmer Barbosa of Fraunhofer ITEM.
