Device maker H&T Presspart has officially opened a new injection molding facility known as “Fenix” in Tarragona, Spain, the company said. The plant manufactures MDI actuators and other delivery device components.
H&T Presspart Tarragona Managing Directors Thomas Portune and Dana Shears attended the ribbon cutting ceremony along with the president of the local chamber of commerce and a representative from GlaxoSmithKline.
Portune commented, “Our new digital and highly automated plant will be able to manufacture over 300 million of pharmaceutical components a year. This investment will allow us to continue to support our customers in improving patients’ lives with pulmonary diseases whilst maintaining our position within the global market. Today is a day of celebration and is great news for our local area and company group. A big thank you to everyone involved in the Fenix project and making it a reality.”
