Micro-Sphere adds DPI capsule filling capacity

Swiss CDMO Micro-Sphere has announced the addition of new DPI capsule filling capacity with a new MG2 Tekna filling machine in a dedicated, humidity-controlled cleanroom at its facility near Lugano. The company also has added a MultiNETT 100% weight control system.

Earlier this year, the company announced that the facility, which was recently expanded, had completed a successful GMP inspection. In September 2017, Micro-Sphere announced that it had added a Harro Höfliger Modu-C MS capsule filling machine at the facility, and the company says that it is the only CDMO in the world with both the Tekna dosator and the Modu-C MS drum dosing systems.

Micro-Sphere Managing Director Michael Grassberger commented, “In all of its 20 years our company has been committed to strengthening our niche capabilities in spray drying and inhalables. The expansion has seen a significant investment of time and resource and now enables us to move forward with our planned growth and hopefully garner success for at least another 20 years.”
