Device manufacturer Gerresheimer has announced the opening of a new development center in Dongguan City, China, where the company has been manufacturing inhalers and other drug delivery devices since 2006. The company also has development centers in Germany and the US; all three centers include design, engineering, and development to prepared devices for production.
Gerresheimer Management Board member responsible for Plastics & Devices Andreas Schütte said, “Our development centers are important USPs that allow us to offer our customers crucial added value. The new center in China ensures that we can optimally meet the growing demand in the Asian market. In future, we will have development operations in addition to local production operations and we’ll be collaborating closely with our customers in China.”
Earlier this year, the company expanded its inhaler manufacturing capacity in the US.
