Hovione has announced the appointment of Justin Hughey, who was most recently Director of Research for Enavail to head its US Particle Design sciences at our site in New Jersey. The company says that it is moving into hot melt extrusion in addition to spray drying, and Hughey has extensive experience with the technique. He also has experience in engineering particles for respiratory delivery, one of Hovione’s specialties.
Hovione VP of Particle Design Colin Minchom commented, “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Hughey. With his experience and deep scientific knowledge in developing traditional and non-traditional dosage forms with a strong emphasis on hot melt extrusion and other novel processing techniques, I believe he will help speedily solve bioavailability challenges brought to us by our customers.”
