Research Scientist – Inhalation

PPD. This position is located in RTP, NC.

This position involves conducting complex bioanalytical method and technology research and development projects to include the development and implementation of new assay methods, enhancement of existing methods, and transfer of client-provided methods under limited supervision. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting analytical instruments and method performance, occasional client consultation and preparation of technical reports for clients. Primary objective of this position is to ensure that high quality, robust, and efficient bioanalytical methods are developed or transferred in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet or exceed client and company requirements.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Method Development and Validation. Experience to include Anderson Cascade, NGI, DPI, and HPLC.

Responsibilities may include:
• Develop quantitative bioanalysis methods using chromatographic, mass spectrometric, ligand binding or other technologies
• Perform successful development and validation of assays
• Provide support/troubleshooting of methods in production applications
• Provide guidance, general troubleshooting, and training support to less experienced scientists as needed
• Participate in client communications regarding expectations and requirements for successful projects
• Prepare feasibility/development/validation reports for clients
• Develop innovative technology and provide training to laboratory staff for its implementation
• Plan and conduct appropriate experiments and manage work hours and priorities to meet expected project completion dates
• Communicate project status to team Supervisor and Manager

Education and Experience:
• PhD in chemistry, biology or appropriate related field with 2 + years experience quantitative Bioanalysis work to include; validation, method development, and production using relevant immunochemistry or chromatography based technologies OR
• MS in chemistry, biology or appropriate related field, with 5 + years experience quantitative Bioanalysis work to include; validation, method development, and production using relevant immunochemistry or chromatography based technologies OR
• BS in chemistry, biology or appropriate related field, with 7 + years experience quantitative Bioanalysis work to include; validation, method development, and production using relevant immunochemistry or chromatography based technologies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• At least 5 years of experience in Method Development and Validation.
• Experience to include Anderson Cascade, NGI, DPI, and HPLC.
• Experience in quantitative bioanalysis using chromatographic, mass spectrometric, ligand binding, or other relevant technologies
• Strong background in analytical chemical sciences is required
• Good verbal and written communication skills are essential
• Ability to work independently with limited direction from team leader or manager
