US company introduces OTC horseradish nasal spray

Over-the-counter drug manufacturer GSC Products has introduced a horseradish nasal spray marketed as “Sinus Plumber.” The company also developed a capsaicin nasal spray called Sinus Buster that was acquired by Hi-Tech Pharmacal earlier this year and a caffeinated nasal spray called Turbo Snort. Sinus Plumber, which the company is marketing as a cure for allergy symptoms and headaches, contains capsaicin and wintergreen oil in addition to the horseradish.

Inventor Wayne Perry said, “It took several years of research and development to come up with the most effective sinus and headache nasal spray imaginable. My earlier formulas were great, but as a chronic headache sufferer, I always felt that pepper alone was less than a hundred percent effective. I wanted to find an ingredient that could be combined with capsaicin to make it even more effective. With Sinus Plumber, it turned out to be two ingredients: horseradish and wintergreen.”
