Director – R&D – Pulmonary & Nasal

The laboratory groups at Catalent RTP are responsible for the support of pharmaceutical product development in a range of dosage forms both directly with customers and in collaboration with other Catalent facilities. This includes formulation development, structural chemistry, analytical support, and clinical trials material manufacturing.

This position is responsible for directing and providing scientific and technical leadership for the overall research and development activities of the Pulmonary & Nasal team to extend site technology and intellectual property, and in supporting customer driven product development work for the Pharmaceutical Development business.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Inhalation product development or manufacturing at the managerial level
  • Ph.D. in pharmaceutics, chemistry, biological sciences or other related scientific discipline or equivalent in experience
  • 12 years experience in pharmaceutical research and development with 5 years in a managerial position
  • Expert knowledge in Inhalation product development (new product or generic)
  • Experience leading product development teams to successful regulatory filings (IND/NDA/ANDA)
  • Technical knowledge and experience overcoming challenges in developing inhalation dosage forms (pMDI, DPI)
  •  

  • Understands inhalation product regulatory landscape.
